why do we travel? Or like the song goes “does anybody know what we are looking for”?? Why do we consider travel a basic desire nowadays? I especially like how George Santayana puts it in The Philosophy of Travel: “We need sometimes to escape into open solitudes, into aimlessness, into the moral holiday of running some pure hazard, in order to sharpen the edge of life, to taste hardship, and to be compelled to work desperately for a moment at no matter what.” Do we travel to lose ourselves or to find ourselves? In order to find the WHERE, WHEN or HOW to travel, we need to rediscover the pure pleasure of travels and the meaning of our own inner journey and rediscovery.

21. I have a close friend who is a pro-needler. Place on the east side called INVIVO. Let me know and I’m sure she’ll fit you in… name drop me and I imagine she’ll knock a ton off the bill!

22. Short fiction market is DOA. Best to go for broke and write a novel.

I’ve been interested in taxes for lengthier then I care to admit, both on the individual side (all my employed lifetime!!) and from a legal point of view since satisfying the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve rendered a lot of advice and righted a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve put up makes complete sense. Please uphold the good work – the more individuals know the better they’ll be equipped to comprehend with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.

Wow, you’re leaving our ranks (although “our” perhaps is not quite accurate since I am of that strange subset known as SAHD). With Zachy and Zoe still extremely attached to my hips (and skull and thigh and bicep, etc.), I won’t become a valid member of capitalism (i.e., he/she whom earns money to spend later) for a few years yet.

If ever.

My wife likes to keep me barefoot and preg… er, well, that’s not quite accurate, but you know what I mean.

Of course, if one of my various screenplays are finally snatched up, all bets are off!

Darn, you’re right – we don’t have a Civic full picture. Rob beat me home and quickly unloaded. And out poor garbage pickup people will be fine, we’re going to throw them in the wild back end of the yard. I would love to see that turn into a pumpkin patch. Such dreams I have :)

Did no one photograph the Civic crammed full of pumpkins? I agree, this endeavor was certainly in the spirit of Jamie and Adam. In a couple weeks your garbage(wo)man is going to have an interesting job….
